CANVAS BY LANDS’ END | Golfo dei Poeti
‘We are Lovers’ is a fashion and travel blog where Lucia, Alessia and Francesca share their ideas and unique discoveries in the destinations they visit… hidden gem restaurants and off-the beaten-track ‘must-see’ places and attractions. The Golfo dei Poeti (literally ‘The Gulf of the Poets’) stretches from Porto Venere to Lerici, and is named for the many famous English poets who stayed there; Lord Byron, Mary Shelly and Virgina Wolf. It’s an undeniably poetic location and the perfect place for a short, intense road trip in collaboration with Canvas by Lands’ End. Light, summery dresses, colourful swimsuits and floaty blouses accompany them for this, the last weekend of holiday sun before the arrival of September.
Enjoying a temperate climate and happy atmosphere, San Terenzo is a lively village and a wonderful place to live. Thanks to the scenic castle that hides a beautiful cove, the sandy bay and the many restaurants along the beach, the location is an ideal place to spend an evening after exhausting the usual tourist destinations.
With its narrow and evocative streets, balconies full of flowers and old buildings, the village of Sarzana is not to be missed. The beautiful houses and the historical walls make Sarzana one of the most visited tourist locations.
PORTO VENRE & LERICI
Porto Venere is one of the most appealing locations in the area. Colourful houses overlook the small harbour, and thanks to its ancient origins it conserves the allure of history in its hidden corners and amazing landscape. Lerici is a cheerful village, with a beautiful harbour and great facilities – the perfect place to spend a relaxing weekend, and loved by visitors from all over the world. If you are in the area and would like a peaceful and beautiful place to spend the night, we suggest the Castello Del Piano. Although not close to the beach, it is definitely worth it.
Tellaro (a district of Lerici) is considered to be one of the 100 most beautiful villages in Italy. It is a small ancient and evocative town close to Porto Venere. Edged by a tranquil turquoise sea, it is the perfect place to find glorious beaches.
