Q:I want a trouser hem on the chinos - not a stitched hem. If I order a trouser hem, (I presume I can as per information) do I have to keep the chinos even if they are not suitable, when they arrive?Asked on 3/17/2013 by Oats from Manchester
A:We will invisibly hem or add turn-ups to your trousers. If therse are not suitable for any reason, please feel free to return for a full refund or exchange.Answered on 3/18/2013 by Sally from Lands' End
Q:I recently bought a pair of "black" traditional fit plain front chinos. On arrival they appeared to be a very dark navy blue. I chose to keep them and wear them as navy. Can you tell me whether all your "black" chinos tend to be a bluer hue of black?Asked on 11/12/2012 by Peter
A:We would expect our black chinos to be a pure black. As you have had an issue with these in the past, I would recommend calling our customer service team who can have a pair checked for you.Answered on 11/14/2012 by Claire from Lands' End

How to measure
If possible, get a friend to help. To be sure of accurate readings, measure over the undergarments you’ll be wearing with your purchase, not over your outer clothing. If you need a tape measure, please e-mail us or call us, and we’ll whisk one off to you absolutely free!
Stand in bare feet with your feet slightly apart and your back to a wall. Measure from the top of your head to the floor.
Measure around your waist at the height where you normally wear your trousers. Keep one finger between the tape and your body.
Take a pair of trousers that fit you well. Measure from crotch seam to the bottom of the leg.
Most trousers can be custom finished with plain hems or turn-ups to the nearest 1/2" (1.5 cm). (For styles where turn-ups are not available, no turn-up selection box will appear on the ordering page.) Most trousers and jeans can be hemmed between 27"– 36" (68.5 cm – 91.5 cm) or left unfinished. Trousers may have turn-ups up to 34" (86.5cm).
