Comments about Men's No-iron Comfort-waist Pleated Front Chinos:

Like having individually tailored trousers. Off the peg trousers are usually a poor fit as I fall between the standard measurements. The comfort waist allows me to wear a 34 inch waist comfortably,; 36 inch waist is too big. Similarly, the standard 31 and 33 inch leg lengths are either too short or too long, so free hemming is very much appreciated. I have purchased four of these trousers, in different colours, which speaks for itself. I wish all retailers would provide these options.

Chosen for my son in September 2016. Arrived after Christmas ! Son says they are very nice but a bit pale.
Since he is usually wearing Landsend chinos all year round I'd guess these will appear on him eventually
Best feature for him ? Permanent crease, little or no ironing.

Comments about Men's No-iron Comfort-waist Pleated Front Chinos:

The Poor Fit mystery solved. Many comments about the length of Lands'end Trousers let try explain why. No they are not going to fit like "similar" sized M&S trousers. Yes they will typically feel 2" too long and my view on the reason is Lands'end are an American Company and our friends across the water, for some inexplicable reason, like to wear their trousers like Simon Cowell with the waistline under their armpits.
This is down to what is called, in Tailor speak "the rise" that is the measurement from the crouch to the waistline. And surprise, surprise if you compare this measurement with a similar waist size M&S chino the Lands'end chino, is yes, 2" deeper. This is, perhaps, OK if you are a snake hips and slim but for those, like me, on the larger size waist this means ordering a shorter, 2", leg length to compensate and no they do not look so good as this then means the crouch is hanging 2" lower. But I guess Landsend won't change the styling to suit the more typical UK market and buyer. Oh and be warned it's not just the Chino's all Lands'end men's trousers that I have tried are the same!!
          Shame really.

Comments about Men's No-iron Comfort-waist Pleated Front Chinos:

My partner only suits pleated trousers but they are SO hard to find - so it was brilliant to find these at Lands End. They are a great fit and very flattering and it is fantastic to be able to order the exact length required. The only other pleated trousers on the market only offer inner leg sizes of 32, 34, 36, etc. How fantastic to be offered the perfect length to the nearest half inch.

Comments about Men's No-iron Comfort-waist Pleated Front Chinos:

What a shame. Really nice trousers but length was FAR too long, turn-ups were unprofessional, and hemming broke after first wearing in light use resulting in need for £15 repair. Crazy. Shame, as would like to buy again, but poor finishing means I will not. And you shouldn't!

                    • Q:

Can you tell me why your no-iron chinos say 'Do not dry clean'?

In my own experience they last better if you dry clean instead of washing.

I am interested in the technical reasons for the instructions and what damage dry cleaning does in your opinion.

                      Thank you.

                        A:

                        Thank you for your enquiry.
Dry cleaning would damage the treatment on the fabric which makes them non iron and stain resistant.
