Pity about the hood

Comments about Men's Squall® Rain Jacket:

A nice, light, and so far completely waterproof coat. Unfortunately it is let down by not having a volume reducer on its enormous hood. This means the hood drops down over my eyes until I can't see where I am going. Shame to penny-pinch a few inches of velcro.

No inside pocket. Outside pockets felt the wrong way round to me, so returned the jacket.

Comments about Men's Squall® Rain Jacket:

We bought two of these at sale price and my husband really likes them. Colours are a bit bright in red and blue, maybe a more subtle jade colour would be nicer but better than the ubiquitous navy!

Comments about Men's Squall® Rain Jacket:

Due to an unusually dry period shortly after purchase, this garment hasn't yet had the amount of use that I anticipated. It is the case, however, that when I wore it during heavy rain it maintained integrity and didn't leak. Even the seams kept out the rain.
I have found the jacket to be slightly more snug than I expected. I have one of the lined Squall jackets from Lands' End and it feels "roomier". Having said that, the fit is true to the size guide and there is room for a lightweight jumper or fleece to be worn underneath. I'm 5'7" and have a 38" chest and I bought size medium.
The jacket is quite short so is ideal when there's a need to get in and out of a car.
I've found the jacket to be ideal for week end use over a jumper or long sleeve shirt but if worn in the rain for prolonged periods will enable rain to run off on to thighs.
The hood gives plenty of protection but is more comfortable when worn with a beanie so that it doesn't feel like a cold plastic bag.
It would have been better if there had been an inside pocket and if the hood folded away into the collar.
All in all, this is a very effective, but basic, rain jacket for days when it's wet but not cold enough for a lined jacket.

          A:

The hidden pockets are located on the hip and they have a zip fastening under the flap.
