Comments about Women's Essential Down Coat:
I bought this down coat for my sister. She asked to order 1 size smaller having in mind that landsend down coats usually fit big. So according to size chart we were to order exactly size 2x (plus), but size 1x plus fitted perfectly.
The coat looks great, my sister is absolutely satisfied with it. She has had no problems with losing feathers so far (she's been wearing the coat for several weeks).
So I'd definitely recommend this item to a friend!

Comments about Women's Essential Down Coat:
Really pleased with colour, style (doesn't make me look like Michelin man), & warmth.Bought with a trip to Iceland in mind but has been very useful already.
Detachable hood (adjustable) is warm, & neck is fleece lined & cosy. Nice length - above knee. All in all, a great coat at a bargain price. (Wouldn't have bought at full price).

Comments about Women's Essential Down Coat:
Being size 20 (got 1X) liked the pull in waist, and back waist design, flattering, unlike many others I've tried. So light, don't feel trussed up.Room for thick jumper underneath (if needed) Good length, I'm 5'6" and just above knee. When driving can unzip a bit from bottom.Loved cosy fleece round neck and wrists + in pockets.Hood not too huge, should stay up nicely. Colour dark mahogony seemed a dark brown to me. Just wish zip pull was a dark colour instead of silver, may paint over with nail varnish, and zip not concealed, but I'm very happy with my bargain coat.

Comments about Women's Essential Down Coat:
Good length. Ideal with two way zip for when sitting down such as when driving.
Warm and cosy with fleece lined pockets and cuffs.
I like the fact that you can draw the waist in to give a more slimming effect.

Comments about Women's Essential Down Coat:
I have already got the jacket version of this down coat and have been so pleased with it. But was disappointed when I ordered the coat, as the zip is visible all the way down the length which spoils the quality of the coat. Unfortunately had to return it.

Comments about Women's Essential Down Coat:
I utterly love this coat despite initial reservations that I would look like the famous tyre-related gentleman in it. It is slightly fitted so the waist is defined and so completely comfortable I know I shall be wearing it a lot this winter and beyond. The petite means the sleeves are exactly the right length and the coat is just below knee level. It is unbelievable light too - hardly feels as though you're wearing it. Did I mention I love it?

Q:
It states that this coat repels snow / wet and that it is machine washable.Do I have to use a special "water repellant" wash when washing this coat so that it maintains its wate repellancy?
Also, can I use a stain remover or will this affect the water replellancy?
Thank you for the help.
JulieAsked on 11/26/2012 by J from Merseyside1 answer
A:
Detergents and normal washing powders can eat away at the special coatings that make such garments water resistant. However, there is leeway to use something different, try plain soap flakes or pure soap powder. These are gentle and will not harm the coating or hydrophobic qualities of the water resistant fabric.
Again with stain removers, dependent on the frequency of use, this can lead to a breakdown of the fabric.Answered on 11/27/2012 by Sally from Lands' End

How To Measure
If possible, get a friend to help. To be sure of accurate readings, measure over the undergarments you’ll be wearing with your purchase, not over your outer clothing. If you need a tape measure, please e-mail us or call us, and we’ll whisk one off to you absolutely free!
Height
Stand in bare feet with your feet slightly apart and your back to a wall. Measure from the top of your head to the floor.
Bust
With arms relaxed at your sides, measure the fullest part of your bust, keeping the tape parallel to the floor.
