Q:WHAT IS THE LENGTH OF THE SWIMDRESS AND IS IT SUITABLE FOR SWIMMING?Asked on 8/27/2012 by HILLA from SCOTLAND UK
A:The length of our swimsuits is measured in terms of torso size: this is the distance from the top of one shoulder, down the body and through the crotch, and back up to the top of the same shoulder.
The torso size of this swimsuit varies with the suit sizing, but for example in size US10 (UK14) it measures 62.75” – please refer to the sizing information link in the item description for the dimensions in other sizes.
I can confirm that all of our swimwear is suitable for swimming.Answered on 9/1/2012 by Stuart from Lands' End
Sizing Guide: Women's Swimwear
The Kindest Cut® sets our swimwear apart. It's a fit designed for real women, not willowy models. Kindest Cut® suits offer sensible seat and bust coverage, so they stay put without annoying tugging or creeping. They're made from fabrics that move comfortably with you. And they give you plenty of options for enhancing your figure.
Kindest Cut® also refers to consistency in fit between suit styles, so once you know your Lands' End size, you're set. You'll find that our suits offer the best combination of fit, function, flattery and fashion.
Accurate measuring is the first step in finding a suit that fits precisely. Measure over your undergarments and have someone help you, if possible.
Surprisingly, torso length has little relationship to height. A 5'9" woman may actually have a short torso and long legs. A 5'2" woman could have a long torso and short legs. We offer almost every suit we sell in both regular and long torso lengths to provide you with a better-fitting suit.
Run a tape measure full circle from your shoulder, over the fullest part of your bust, down through the centre of your crotch and back up to the starting point. Tip: start with the tape measure going over your back and up through your crotch for easier measuring.
With arms relaxed at your sides, measure the fullest part of your bust, keeping the tape parallel to the floor.
Measure around your waist at the height where you normally wear your trousers. Keep one finger between the tape and your body.
Stand with your heels together, and measure around the fullest part of your hips, keeping the tape parallel to the floor.
Each suit is styled with one of the following leg openings.
Original offers the most coverage at the side and seat.
Cut 1.5'' / 4 cm higher at the side.
Cut 2.5'' / 6.5 cm higher at the side.
