So much warmth, so little weight!
This parka weighs next to nothing … literally. It's so light and compact, you could probably roll it up and tuck it into your bag. But we can hear the burning question that’s on your mind – how can it possibly keep me warm if it weighs so little? It’s a simple case of less is more. We use a higher fill power, which provides better insulation. Better insulation means we can use less of it for all-around warmth without excess weight. The result is greater comfort and a more flattering fit for you. A parka that easily transitions through the changing temperatures of the seasons. Wear on its own in milder temps then add layers underneath when cold weather really sets in. Secure zipped pockets hold all of your essentials. 100% nylon shell. 90% down/10% feather insulation. Machine wash.

Approx. length in Regular size M: 77.5cm/30½"

Comments about Women's Featherlight Down Parka:

Jacket is good for Spring or Summer weather. Stylish. However would be too light for Winter. Downside - when holding an umbrella in rain, water runs under cuff on to clothes soaking sleeves underneath - not very pleasant. Also little feathers seep out of seams.

Ordered this on offer, wanting a lightweight, throw-it-on jacket. I'm pleased with the fit - it's snug but then you don't need much on underneath. Its nicely made, and warm (today's 9 or 10 degrees C and it's fine)

Easy wearing for any outdoor purpose. Not very very warm; I found it ok with say 2degrees of frost but not much colder. Its lightness is great and its good not to have to deal with hoods and bits hanging around.

Comments about Women's Featherlight Down Parka:

I have already reviewed this jacket but having worn it now solidly for 3 weeks I have a few more comments which I hope Landsend might incorporate into next year's jacket.

In general I am pleased with the jacket and in the sale it is good value for money.

My main gripe is with the sleeves. There is just a thin piece of elastic to draw them in. When the jacket gets wet the rain runs down into the sleeves and leaves them sopping wet. Also the wind is not kept out. The zip on the jacket is nicely hidden with material with popper fastening. Perhaps you could do the same for the sleeves. The best thing would be an under sleeve for the wrists in tight gripping material hidden by a normal sleeve with a popper. Winter anoraks/jackets often feature this kind of double sleeve and its absence makes this jacket less practical than it could be.

As mentioned before an inside pocket and a small thin detachable or hidden hood would also be useful.

After 3 weeks wear the odd feather is now coming through the material. Is this normal and any suggestions how to prevent any more coming out/how to seal the material?

I've bought two of these jackets, for my friends, the first one was size M,colour Aged Vine, and everything was perfect about it. The second one, arrived this morning, is something very different. This jacket is lined, the first one wasn't, the fabric looks cheap, and it's very very thin. Disappointment.Don't know what my friend is going to decide, to keep it or to send it back. The problem is , we live abroad.During last two years I've bought a lot of clothes from Land's End, and everything was first quality .

I chose the Plum Fuschia and what a good choice I made! This is a beautiful jacket, just the right length, really warm, but light and easy to wear. The design and cut is excellent and I've recieved many compliments since I started wearing it. If I had to criticise it I would have to say an internal pocket would be good. Just want to wear it all the time!!

              I thought Graphite was grey

Comments about Women's Featherlight Down Parka:

Firstly very odd colour, is described as muted graphite, which I interepted as grey admittedly the picture doesnt look terribly grey. I had a graphite coloured car once and that was definately a very smart dark grey. This is a sort of minky, khaki, brownish! well some of the descriptions from my family/work colleagues, none of which thought it could possible be graphite, suggested that I'd been sent the wrong item. However I realy LIKE the colour which lends itself to assorted scarves to ring the changes. Its so light and very snuggly, a bit like wearing my Down duvet to work, but more acceptable.

I am usually a size 12 and concerned if I order a S 10-12 that it will be too small when I wish to wear a jumper underneath.. on the other hand, the 14-16 will be too big and not look fitted.

Our clothing can be on the generous side and I would suggest ordering the small (UK 10/12). The garment chest measure for this coat is 41 inches.

Although lightweight these parka's still ranked as Warmer, meaning that they have been tested down to temperatures as low as -26 Celcius when wearing standard winter clothes underneath.

I find it reasonably warm in cold but when there is cold wind it does feel a little light and does not keep me warm. This is in scotland so maybe ok for down south Nice jacket though!
