Lovely coat but far too big!

Comments about Women's HyperDRY Expedition Down Parka:

I really wanted to keep this coat as it was a lovely colour (I ordered the burgundy) and was heavy and warm but sadly it was just enormous. The XS drowned me (size 8) and as Lands End don't do smaller sizes I've had to return for a refund. A real shame.

Comments about Women's HyperDRY Expedition Down Parka:

The Cobalt Blue is a beautiful bright colour and has received many favourable comments. As yet, the weather hasn't been cold enough to test it fully, but it is really cosy and comfortable and will be perfect for Playground duty and winter walks. The fur is really soft and the hood is large enough to protect the face from icy winds- and it stays up without being held.
The only drawback is that it doesn't come in Petite- which is what I would normally buy from Lands' End- so, on me the arms are slightly long. I'm hoping that gloves will hold them back. A great investment, especially with the 20% discount

Is this coat totally waterproof and what is the best way to keep it so?

            A:

It is totally water proof with taped seams.
We recommend a cool wash and tumble dry on low with laundry or tennis balls.

Hi. Thanks for your question. Our HyperDry Parka can be washed on a cold, gentle machine cycle. We recommend that it is washed and dried with dryer balls/clean tennis balls. For all further information please call us on 0800 220 106.

        • Q:

How does the hood stay up in windy weather? The product details and photos don't address this. I am frustrated by buying too many hooded parkas which are useless in a gale as you have to hold on to the hood to keep it on your head!

            A:

Hello, and thank you for your inquiry. The hood for this parka can be fastened using a elasticated drawstring. As such, it is possible to tighten the hood in such a way that strong winds would not catch it.
