Hopeless in wet weather

Comments about Women's HyperDRY Explorer Down Parka:

This sounded like exactly what I was looking for . It even looks nice enough - barring the strange logo on the arm. However, this magnificent "Yperdry" garment turned out to be like wearing a sponge. When i went out in it on a wet day, the rain soon seeped through and soaked by shirt, also. That left me feeling very cold as well as wet. On a relatively mild day. For the UK climate, that makes this jacket absolutely useless.

Comments about Women's HyperDRY Explorer Down Parka:

I love this parka. It is very light and fits perfectly. I am a size small and it is true to size. It has a very nice look on the back and it doesn't feel bulky nor looks bulky. I love everything about it except the collar inside. I understand it is made to keep us warm but it kind of spoils the look I was expecting.
I also do not like the fact that the hood can't be tightened to the neck. If there is a lot of wind, it won't hold on the head. Otherwise, I really like this parka.
However, I am going to return it because I got in black and it is not the finish I was expecting. I thought it shined more, like the blue one. So I am thinking about exchanging it for the white.
Can it be used for winter sports like alpine skiing? If it can, then I will definitely exchange it for the white.

Comments about Women's HyperDRY Explorer Down Parka:

Lovely Parka - nice colour and good fit - but the awful logo patch spoils the look - feels plastic and is completely out of keeping with the coat. I will keep the coat because it's comfortable and warm and I can't see the logo when I have it on but it isn't in keeping with the coat or design (plus has a strange tab under the hood with Landsend on it too). Need to have a word with your designers -

                  Hello,
I was wondering if it's possible to take the lands end logo off the arm of the coat.
Love the coat but I think the label makes it look cheap. Could I take it off- would it ruin the sleeve?
                  Thanks
                  Gaby

                    Thank you for your enquiry.
Most top designs of Down Coats and Parkas have logos on the sleeve and at Lands' End we wanted to keep with this trend. However, should you wish to remove the logo, you could find a local tailor or remove it yourself. Please note, we would not be able to accept it back as a return and it may lead to issues when washing.
                    I hope this helps.

I am a size 12-14 so not sure whether to order a small (10-12) or a medium (14-16). I haven't ordered from you before so I have nothing to compare.

Please be advised that we are a US company and our sizes are fairly generous. With our outerwear there is no need to size up as we take into account heavier layers will be worn underneath.

                    GRMT CHEST: 42 Inches
                    LENGTH (CB):32 Inches
                    SLEEVE (CB): 33 ½ Inches.

                    Medium:

We have sold out of the Neptune Blue in most sizes now. We just have a few left in that colour in XS.

Hello, and thank you for your inquiry. This Parka would be perfectly suitable for Alpine conditions, as it is among our most heavily insulated items.

I just bought it and it is rather light. It is not packable down but for a down parka it feels very light.
