  • Q:

    Hi,

Will the plus size become available in Rich Red or will it only be available in yellow?

I would love to see more waterproof plus size coats in longer lengths but made of a light weight fabric. Longer length would be good because I can't hold an umbrella and push a pram at the same time and my jeans end up soaked by the time I get home. I think lots of women suffering with hot flushes would also like a lighter weight coat or at least a removable liner. A light weight coat is also easier to carry when I don't have the pram with me and it is easier to store when I do.

    Kind regards

Hi . Is the length of 82.5 cm from shoulder to hem and how tall is the model?I am trying to work out how long it will look on me. I am 5 foot 6.

      Thank you for your enquiry.
The measurement is taken from the collar seam and down the centre back. I am unable to find out the height of the model, May I suggest that you measure a coat which you already have and compare the length.

This Coat has a Thin Fleece upper lining (not in the sleeves) which has a warm feel

      A:

Hello, and thank you for your inquiry. The upper lining of this coat is made of 100% polyester fleece, and is somewhat warm. The lower lining is 100% nylon, and is thinner and cooler to the touch than the upper section, though similar in weight to the outer body of the coat.

The hood would be better with an adjustable fixing as I have on my Winter squall and I would suggest a detachable lining to suit the varied weather conditions in Spring.

this garment was bought as multi-season outer wear, and it fills the bill admirably.

Nice style, great quality. Lack of bulk, but could accommodate an inner vest or sweater when the weather turns cold and/or wet.

Comments about Women's Lightweight Squall Coat:

I was looking for a lightweight jacket/coat/parka to replace a primaloft coat that the lining is coming undone. Some of the other jackets I looked at were shiny, and as a petite size 16/18 I didn't want to draw attention to myself. This jacket isn't going to be as warm as the primaloft coat, but will tick other boxes. I have several coats in differing styles, and they all have massive hoods which could be dangerous as you can't see where you are going. It would help if they could be adjusted from the back.

Comments about Women's Lightweight Squall Coat:

I have been looking for a parka with 4 outside pockets & an internal pocket, so I was exceptionally pleased to find this one. I love the rich red colour. It is very well made & good quality. The fabric was quite stiff & flared out a bit below the hips, so I decided to wash it (following the instructions on the label) & the stiffness has gone & I feel it sits more naturally against my body. Personally, I would have preferred it to be a little bit longer so that it sat midway between the top of my thighs & my knees, but that doesn't deter my overall satisfaction with my parka. The fact that I was able to purchase it in the sale was the icing on the cake for me.

Comments about Women's Lightweight Squall Coat:

I bought this coat in the yellow colour, mainly for visibility when walking the dog during darker evenings and mornings. The colour is beautiful, very cheerful, and I get lots of compliments about it and people asking where I bought the coat.
It is waterproof, and warm enough (for me) in cooler weather, except for very cold spells - I wear my squall duffel coat on those days. It's great that there is no velcro to ruin scarves and stick to itself.
My only problem with this coat is the absolutely massive hood, which is only adjustable round the outer edge. I don't think I have an unusually small head, but it is impossible to get the hood to stay on whilst still allowing any chance of seeing where I am going. Even with a hat underneath, the hood is twice as big as it ought to be. Adjusting the outer edge simply draws the hood down over my eyes and nose! I have other coats with a hood adjuster on the back of the hood, and this is the only change I would make to this particular coat.

I love everything about this light spring parka -- light weight, length, warm soft lining in the upper part, bright
colour (yellow) for dark rainy days in Scotland, design, small details, lots of useful pockets, a full length zip in addition to press-buttons, the shape of hood, flattering fitting, and especially its sale price. I am going to take
it to my approaching overseas trip in December. Thank you!

Comments about Women's Lightweight Squall Coat:

This is a great waterproof. However, I bought it as a winter coat as it's warmth rating was warmer - down to -29. It doesn't live up to this claim - it hasn't been that cold yet this winter and I wore it with layers underneath and was cold. The only lining is the trunk of the body - not over the thighs or the sleeves. But it is a great waterproof for spring/autumn.

Wonderful coat. Petite is always a perfect fit for me and I love all the pockets. My only problem with this coat and the very lightweight squall I bought in the summer is that as I am petite the hoods swamp me. A back of the hood adjuster would make this coat perfect. My heavier squall has one, why not put the adjusters on all the squalls. You may have noticed that I am a very big fan of Squalls and now have 3 of different weights. They are perfect for the outdoor life.
