BOOTLEG JEAN

By RED DRAGON

from Essex

Comments about Women's Bootcut Stretch Jeans with Grown-on Waist:

Well, now I know what a grown on waist is! They looked small for a size 14 but I tried them on and they were a nice snug fit. They will look fine with a top. The denim is a reasonable quality, a nice dark navy. They were not what I expected, different to my last pair of Landsend bootleg denim jean. I think I was expecting a heavier denim but they are serviceable.

Comments about Women's Bootcut Stretch Jeans with Grown-on Waist:

The intro said these jeans were on the large side, they are not. They are smaller than the ones of similar style I last bought and I have lost weight too (honest)! I will be returning them.

It is about time Landsend produced a good quality long leg jean that is not tight in the legs and is serviceable for general easy wearing. Not the elastic back ones either, I want good quality stretch fabric, simple lines with straight legs in a size 14 at a 34 inside leg please. There are so few trousers with long leg length available. There used to be when I was first a customer back in the days of yor!

  • Q:

What is the difference between a Regular UK size 16 length 30 for which one colour is available and a Petite UK size 16 length 30 for which two colours are available? If I am a UK size 16 length 30 where does that leave me??

      A:

The main difference between a regular fitting (height of 5'4" to 5'7") and petite fitting (4'11" to 5'3"), in trousers, is the rise. i.e. how high the trousers sit at the waist. In the petite fitting, this is cut lower to allow for a shorter crotch to waist ratio.
In the US size 14,(UK 16), the front rise on the regular fitting (measured from the crotch seam to underneath the waistband), is 11 inches and the back rise is 15 7/8 inches. On the petite fitting, the front rise is 10.5 inches and the back rise is 15.5 inches.

  • Q:

I don't like jeans with a short rise - so how does this style compare with the Ladies Classic Jeans I have previously ordered?

      A:

Compared to the Classic Denim Jeans, the front rise on these ones is 1/2" shorter, but the back rise is 3/8" longer.

What exactly is a 'grown-on' waist? Thank you in advance for your reply.

The waistband is not a separate piece sewn on, but a continuation of the fabric of the trousers to give a bulk-free look.

  • Q:

Are these the same size and cut as the "original fit classic waist boot leg" that I have bought previously in Petite? If not will you be selling these again? It is the waist size that I am worrying about as your waist sizes seem to be going up causing an ugly bag at the back for some of us.

      A:

The style you ordered previously were 195110, which sit at the natural waist line, but we are not expecting any further stock of these. This style (390878) does sit a little lower on the waist. If you would like any particular garment measurements, our customer sales advisors are always happy to help.
