We know you would never let winter slow you down. In fact, this coat can't wait to take on the worst of winter weather. Inspired by our love of winter sport, Stadium Squall® has been a trusted companion for many seasons. And whether you're sitting in the stands or just taking on the outdoors you'll quickly appreciate all it has to offer. Like the rest of the Squall family, it's designed to take on the harshest forecasts with a waterproof, windproof shell, cosy fleece lining, adjustable hood, even a storm flap to help block out the elements. (And for you diehard spectators, its longer length, plus 150-gram insulation puts plenty of protection between you and the cold.) Our coat has lots of comforts too, such as soft fleece inside the collar and pockets, adjustable cuffs with interior rib-knit cuffs and a chinguard to prevent nips. Drawcord waist helps block cold. Pockets include two at the waist with dual-side entry, one at the chest, plus one inside. 100% nylon/100% polyester upper lining. Machine wash.

I already have one of these coats, which has been brilliant.
However this model has a detachable hood, which I found to be very uncomfortable, compared to my old one

Comments about Women's Stadium Squall Coat:

What a shame that the newer version of this useful coat does not have those hand-warmer pockets on the chest as before. Why change this, as well as other small features, on a perfectly good model that has remained in the range for years for good reason?

Comments about Women's Stadium Squall Coat:

This is my third squall coat from Lands End. I bought the last one about 2006 and it's still going strong but just looking a bit shabby. I ordered the same size as the current coat but found it much smaller and have had to ask to exchange for the next size up. Also I was disappointed that the inside zip pocket (great for keys, iPhone, passport) has gone and the vertical slits for keeping your hands warm also. The price has stayed the same but the quality of design deteriorated. A pity. I'd have preferred to pay a little more and keep the old quality.

Comments about Women's Stadium Squall Coat:

I wanted a fully waterproof coat which was also warm, not only to wear walking to work in the winter but also because we are going up above the Arctic Circle next November (it will be dark and very cold!).
The coat is very well made and I like the dark purple colour. Like other people have mentioned, the sizing seems to run small. I ordered the Medium because it says it is a UK 14-16 (and all my clothes are either a 14 or a 16) but I found this coat to be very tight, so I've sent the M back to be exchanged for the L.
Also, the pockets are in a very strange place. They are in the side-seams which means they are too far back for you to put your hands in comfortably.
Apart from these minor gripes though, I'm sure the coat will see lots of use in the coming cold, wet months.
My husband bought the Weatherly parka about 5 years ago and says it is excellent, so I know that when Landsend says a coat is waterproof, then that's just what it is.

Comments about Women's Stadium Squall Coat:

This is the best winter coat I have ever bought. I have regularly used it in both cold and windy weather and when the rain is torrential, and have stayed warm and dry. (Living in South West Ireland this is particularly relevant.) I particularly like the flattering blackberry colour and the adjustable waist that gives the the option of a slightly fitted look. Also when zipped up fully, the hood stays in place, keeping out the rain and wind, while still allowing good visability. While I think the two way zip at the bottom is great, my only small niggle is this, it is sometimes a bit awkward to get both into the opposite side for a smooth zip up. I think this is to do with the fact that it is a coat, as I have not experienced this with any jacket. I have had compliments from many and always encourage them to purchase one for themselves. Many thanks.

This coat is lovely and cosy to wear. I bought it to wear whilst on playground duty but now wear it to everything! It has useful deep pockets which are fleece lined ,ideal if you have forgotten your gloves. The zip is a little awkward to use but I would still buy this coat again.

Does what it says on the packet - keeps me warm & dry. Husband very jealous!! Would have given it a 5 star but side pockets in the seams are a bit hard to get too at times. And the velcro strip at the sleeves is a bit fiddly.
                  But just love it.

This coat is not a down filled style, but has a polyester fleece lining. If you were looking for a down coat, I can advise that minimal leakage may occur, similar to down filled pillows and quilts.

Due to the nature of the fabric, we do advise not to dry clean this coat. If you are unable to wash this in your own washing machine, there may be a local laundrette that will be able to wash larger items for you.

Please can you tell me the measurement around the hips. I'm usually different sizes top and bottom so I need to know if I need to size up to the Medium or if the fit is generous around the hips.

Is the petite just shorter or is it a smaller fit all over? I am short but have broad shoulders, I usually take a 12 or 14, but dont know what size to order.

                            A:

Petite fit items are designed for a person 5'3" and under. For a coat, it will be about two inches shorter in length than the equivalent size in regular - and the sleeves will be approximately 1.5" shorter.
