Our warmest, waterproof coat for boys
Simply our best down-filled, crazy-warm, fully waterproof boys' winter coat. Loaded with kid-friendly features, the protection starts with a waterproof, seam-sealed shell, continues with the practical length and hood, then goes even further with superior 600-fill down insulation and built-in fleece cuffs. On top of all that, it looks incredibly stylish too!
We bought the same parka jacket over a year ago.Comparing the two, my son seems to feel colder in this year's design. This new version seems to only have down insulation in the lower half of the jacket. I believe the older version had down filling throughout the jacket and was significantly warmer. Is this correct?

Thank you for your enquiry. The Upper body has a super-cosy 'teddy' fleece lining and the lower body has down-filled quilted nylon lining. I believe it has been like this for a few years.

Is the furry lining edge to the hood removable? My little one does not like fur around his face!

Thank you for your enquiry. Yes you can remove the faux fur trim.

Hi, with the extendable sleeves, which is the seam to unpick, is it the one in red stitching near the cuff?

Thank you for your enquiry. Yes it is the one in red stitching.

When you say "warmest", that is up to what temperature? Will it work in -20 degrees?

Thank you for your enquiry. TEMPERATURE RATING - WARMEST: -21° to +15°

Are there no reflector markings in it, in order to make kids visible at night?

I can confirm there are no reflective parts on this parka and I have passed your suggestion to our Merchandising team.

Is the smallest size suitable for 4 year olds and up or is good for 3 to 4 year old boys? My son just turned 3 and is 99 cm tall. Would smallest size of Expedition Parka be ok for him or too big?

Thank you for your enquiry. A size 3T would be for a 2-3 yr old, height 92-98cm, A 4T which would be for age 3-4 yrs and for a height of 98-104cms. A size small in little Boys is for a 4yr old a height of 102-107cms.

Weird question - does it have inner or arm pockets? My son is holding out for a coat with secret pockets...

The coat has the 4 pockets shown on the front, as well as an inside pocket.

I'm upset. The child used a parka for a month only, and a rupture has already occurred near the zipper lock. How best to correct this problem?

I am very sorry to hear this parka is faulty. Please do return this for either a full refund or exchange. Any return postage costs will be refunded to you.

It's a wondeful parka and my son loves it so much. I think about the best method to the repair, not about the return. To glue or sew?

Where is this product made? Thank you

This garment is manufactured in China.

How do you extend the sleeves? Is there a seam that is let down? Thank you.

Thank you for your enquiry. Yes there is a seam which you can let down.

Quality Jacket

I bought two of these for my twin nephews. I love the contrast colour trim and the boys love lots of pockets to put treasures in! They're warm and cosy for the walk to school, so I'm very pleased with the purchase.

not good quality

This jacket looked perfect and for the first few weeks I was very pleased - then.... the zip broke at the bottom (making it almost impossible for my son to use it himself, and the re-enforced pad came undone! for the price I expected this to last longer than 8 weeks! i bought it thinking it was perfect and would see my 6 year old through our cold Scottish winter but unfortunately it wasn't designed to be as tough as it looks.

This is a great jacket. Both my sons own one. Its comfortable, stylish, warm. Definitively worth it

Really Great Coat For Winter

This coat was for my Grandson. I have bought him these coats for the past few years. They are really great. Warm, comfortable, durableand great looking. This is by far the best quality coat of any similar ones that I have seen.

Best coat ever!

Over the years this is the fifth time I order expeditional parka for my son. I can not praise it enough- this coat is fab! The quality, practicality and the look-it has it all! It is so warm and lightweight that you can send your child out just in a polo shirt with this coat over the top- they will still feel warm and cosy. Every little detail was thought of when Land's End designers created it. Thank you. I can highly recommend this coat.

A very good and warm coat

This is a very good boys coat and certainly one that I will revisit again when my son grows out of the one I have just purchased. He is a tall five year old so size 10-11 is just right for him. Having bought this in the sale at pretty much close to half price it was a good buy though I don't think I'd be encouraged to pay full price for any young boys coat at close to £100 let alone this and this is one of the best I have seen. Extremely worth the sale price. The inner tightening mechanism on a boys coat gives a bit of a feminine look so I'll not be using that as having just received it my son tried it on and everything on the coat is excellent bar this feature. So the -1star is solely for thus feature taking away from it's otherwise rugged look.

Excellent coat

Bought this parka for my son as he needed a new coat for next season and couldn't pass this one up as it was in the sale. Couldn't ask for a better coat as we are so pleased with it. Excellent made and so comfortable providing great warmth. My son loves his new coat.

The only coat I'll buy! So worth the money

This is by far the best coat I've ever bought my son who loves the outdoors. I have just purchased the newer expedition parka after 3+ years of him wearing the previous version. It really has stayed in amazing condition after most probably 100s of washes! The coat still fits him probably because it buried him a little when i bought it he currently still wears the size 4years and he's nearly 7. I have gone for the 6-7 years this time and will see how that fits. Looking forward to receiving it. Will only ever buy his coats from Landsend now after how impressed we are with the quality.

Best Coat Ever!

I just had to review the Lands End Parka. I bought one for my son (before the fur collar was added) 3years ago now and he's still wearing it and it still fits him. I bought a medium size 5/6 at the time he was 5 and the bigger 6/7 dwarfed him but now hes just about to turn 9 and it still fits and covers down over bum. My so is tall and slim so I suppose that helps with the duration we've owned the same size. Hes predominantly worn it on a daily basis as a school coat (we have Navy Colourway) and then in height of winter at weekends too. Its been washed many times and only now this year 3yrs on and I thinking about getting another as hes scuffed one of the cuffs. Its lovely and warm and everyone always comments how nice a coat it is (as its warm and waterproof) my son loves the cuffs as they have cutout fingers so its like a glove which he thinks is great (although in winter he wears gloves too) I wouldnt hesitate to buy this coat again, ignore the price - its SO worth the cost. My only concern with "new model" is whats going to happen to that fur over time?

Everything about this coat is fabulous!

I don't know where to begin. Honestly, hand on heart, this is the most beautiful, warm coat I have ever seen for a boy. It's so well made, the materials are amazing. It's super soft and cosy and unlike anything I've seen anywhere else. My son is 5 and I bought him age 6-7 in order that he might get two winters out of it, which he definitely will. My three older children have had Lands End coats in the past which I was delighted with, but this one beats them. I didn't think that was even possible. Do not hesitate in buying this. Yes, it's more expensive than your average childrens coat, but my goodness you can absolutely see what you're paying for. Just remember to write your child's name inside it in case it goes walkies!!!!
