I know colour is a subjective area, but would the 'darkest plum' be more accurately described as purpley-blue or does it veer towards a purpley-red? Thanks.

caz

Hi, and thanks for your enquiry. Our 'darkest plum' has a blue undertone. I hope this helps, but should you require any further assistance, please call us on 0800 220 106.

Hi I would like some advice about sizing please I take a 10/12 UK size jumpers, dresses etc. but in winter like to wear a jumper & cardigan under my coats. Could you let me know if it would be better for me to order the 14/16 or stick with my general size Kind Regards Lisa

Lisa

Our outerwear has been styled to wear layers underneath. The chest measurement for the small (UK 10-12) is 42.5 inches. If you choose to try the medium, (UK 14-16) this measures 45 inches.

Claire

Is the dried pine colour more brown than khaki please?

Marilynn greenfingers

Please be advised that the colour description for Dried Pine is that it is a Brownish Green.

Angelina

Hello, I am interested in this jacket in Darkest Plum. The photos show two different colours. Is it the darker or the lighter colour?

Justi

The darker colour is the closest match

Wish it had fitted

I have worn Land's End coats in size XL for years. This time it seems there has been a resizing issue and this coat, although size XL, is only for a small UK 18, not the 18-20 of previous years. A pity because the coat would have been ideal, had I been able to breathe in it. On looking again, it seems that much of the sizing has been changed and many things are now only available up to size 16.

Lightweight and warm

I live in a cold part of the country and walk quite a bit. This light cosy coat is ideal, especially as I don't have to wear too many layers underneath. I haven't quite got the hood adjusted to my liking yet but it's a lovely warm hood. I was worried about looking like a blob, but in fact it's nicely shaped and much more flattering than I expected. Haven't washed it yet so can't comment on that.

Warm but ordinary

This coat is warm and comfortable. I've worn it in the rain and it kept me dry. I've driven in it and it didn't feel too bulky. However, I chose it to replace another Land's End down coat that looked smart and was frequently admired - the new one, alas, is "just a coat."

I have only tried the coat on so far as it is wrapped up for Christmas!! I loved it though and can't wait to wear it! Nice and long - i an 5'4" and it finishes below my knees which is what i wanted. Ideal for standing next to the rugby pitch!

Warm and waterproof. The fit and the length are very good and a pleasing colour too.

Nice coat

As someone who is 6'2", I bought this in size XL in the hope I wouldn't have to send it back! Overall length is great and keeps my legs cosy. The sleeves could do with being an inch longer but are fine with gloves. At the time of purchase I didn't have the option of the tall version. The waist adjustment on the inside sits just under my bust! Looks good and big enough for a thin fleece underneath.

Love the colour

4

I love the red colour and the coat fits very well (I'm 5'2" and bought the regular XS). My one complaint is about the pockets. Unlike my last Lands End parka (which I wore to death), neither the handwarmer nor interior pockets have zips (only poppers) which means you can't carry anything securely ie keys, Oyster card, etc. Plus the interior pocket is so shallow that my phone doesn't fit into it completely. That plus the lack of zip led to the near loss of my phone when it fell out. It's odd as I have Lands End down bomber jacket for going back & forth to the gym and the interior pocket in that is quite deep - but still no zips.

No more cold playground duty!

As a teacher, this is my ideal winter playground coat!! So warm and cosy - and fleecy pockets!! Who doesn't love a winter coat with fleecy pockets? The size is bang on: I am a size 16+ and the size 16-18 is perfect and doesn't make me look huge. The ribbed cuffs and ribbing at the neck keep the draughts out and the hood is a good fit. I thought long and hard before ordering this coat, but I am very glad that I did.

Lovely cosy coat

Just got my new coat in time for the cold weather. The design is so much neater than down coats used to be. I have an old LE down jacket from years ago which made me look a hit like the Michelin man, so am really pleased with this new one.

Only one drawback - the strange 'wet dog' smell - is it the down? Hope it wears off.
