Our warmest coat to weatherproof your commute.
It never fails. The worst weather seems to happen on the way to or home from work (or anywhere else you need to go). While we can't control Mother Nature, in our Down Commuter Coat you'll arrive at your destination dry, warm and looking as great as when you left. It's fully 'winterised' with a waterproof shell and sealed seams. Lightweight 600-fill power down provides supreme warming power without adding bulk. Soft fleece inside the collar, cuffs and pockets adds a touch of cosy where it counts. Inside, there's a small vertical pocket with secure zip closure and 2 patch pockets with rip-grip fastening. 100% polyester shell with a quilted lining. 80% down/20% feather insulation. 95% polyester/5% elastane fleece cuffs/pocket & collar lining. Machine wash.

Approx. length in Regular size M: 110.5cm/43½ins
I am 1,62 tall with a bust of 103 cm.As it regards coats I usually wear 14 and sometimes 16 UK size (on Marks and Spencer garments). What size do you recommend for me ? Thanks in advance.

Ada

Thank you for your enquiry. We do a size UK14/16 (US M) which might be suitable. The length is 43 5/8" and the garment chest measurement is 44 1/2". For more information please call our freephone number 08003767974.

I am 5`7 high and size S and slim. I not sure if i should order a peptit or regular? What size du you think? i like a good lenght on the coat..

Trine

Thank you for your enquiry. Please be advised that if you order the petite the sleeve length and the coat length will be shorter as it is made for a lady of 5 feet 3 and under, therefore you will need to order the regular for your height.

I have previously bought a down coat from you, but down comes out of it on to my clothes - if wearing black this means it looks untidy when I arrive at work. Will this coat do this or can I relax knowing my clothing won't look a mess when I arrive at work?

Rachel

Thank you for your enquiry. Please be advised that the down should not continuously shed onto clothing, we would expect a small amount to leak through from time to time due to the nature of the garment, however you should be able to relax knowing you will stay free of too many loose feathers.

Angelina

Can you provide the approximate measurements for the hood on this coat? I have a long neck so require a roomy hood.

Jill

Hi, and thanks for your enquiry. The hood of our Commuter Down Long Coat is 13 1/2" in height, from the shoulder seam. The width does vary slightly depending on size required, but in a 'M' (UK 14-14/16) it is 11 5/8" when measured 5" from the top. I hope this helps. However, if we can offer any further assistance, please call us on 0800 220 106.

Hi, I am going to Iceland in January to see Northern Lights. Will this coat keep me warm enough? Thank you Shirley

What is the length of the coat

Eirwen

Thank you for your enquiry. The measurement will vary slightly according to the size required, however the length from centre back will be from 42 ¼ inches to 44 ¾ inches. If you require the exact measurement for your size then please call us on 0800 376 797.

Is it really waterproof? (I Llve in Orkney.)

Ann

This coat is completely waterproof having taped sealed seams.

Claire

As the Women's Commuter Coat doesn't appear to be lined, will it leak down on the inside? Three or four years ago I purchased one of your down coats that is quilted on the outside & lined on the inside so the inside is leakproof but the outside leaves a considerable trail of down wherever I sit. Car, train & bus seats all get covered which is pretty unpleasant for me & for the next person who sits in the seats!

wildflower

Thank you for your enquiry. Please be advised that this coat is fully lined and is also completely waterproof having the taped sealed seams so you should not encounter any leakage at all. We are very sorry that you had difficulty with your previous coat and of course if you are unhappy we do have a very strong return policy.

Angelina

I'm considering buying one of your down coats. Of the two that I'm considering, one is "below-the-knee" length, and the other is "mid-calf." Can I assume that the "mid-calf" coat is longer? By how much? Thank you.......Rachel

Flute Lady

Thank you for your enquiry. Please be advised that style number 458007 is the longer mid-calf length, the size medium for instance as comparison measure 43 ½ inches form centre-back as opposed to style number 431700 which will measure 36 ½ inches.

highly recommend for cold weather

5

Very warm comfortable coat, ideal for very cold wet weather. The quality is amazing as one would expect from Landsend, lots of pockets with a removable hood. Very happy with this coat and would recommend it to friends. Have not washed it yet so cannot comment on it performance.

A good warm winter coat

I have purchased this coat in the sale at a very reduced price with the intention of using it in the winter. I live by the sea and need a very warm wind proof, showerproof hooded coat so that I can actually enjoy walking out at the coldest times of the year. The hood seems to fit well and will hopefully not blow back in very windy weather. The coat itself fits well, but I did buy a smaller size having read the reviews and bought other Lands End items in the past. I have learned that your sizes do come up big.

Heavenly, I've worn it all Winter

I bought this last winter, to cycle to work in and to walk my dog. It is the warmest coat I have ever had (and I worked as a landscape architect for 12 years, so I am used to dressing up to stand around in the cold.) I can truthfully say I have never been cold. And I haven't got wet either. I didn't expect to be able to cycle in it, but that was a wonderful bonus, and it's totally wind-proof. I absolutely love it! I can't rate it highly enough. I've had my dog for 7 years and this is the first year I've never once been cold walking him. And after a year it still looks and feels brand new. I love the fact that I can go out in the coldest weather in what I was already wearing: I don't have to change into warmer clothes first. I'm 5'9" and it's a great length for me. I love the long warm sleeves - I only needs gloves when it's really cold (and to cycle.) As you can see, I'm a huge fan.

It's a lovely coat

It's a beautiful coat, and very warm. But - it absolutely swamps me. I like the fact that it is warm and waterproof. Would it be possible to have something similar - ie. warm and waterproof, slightly less warm and in parka length ?
