You can't go far wrong with this polo neck, generously cut for a comfortable, roomy fit in the softest cotton interlock imaginable. A hint of shape retaining stretch in the neck and cuffs gives it a comfortable fit and its smooth, simple cut means it is extremely wearable and versatile.

In the catalogue in the section Cotton Polo necks there is one called Fresh Blue Paisley but every time I seek to buy it nothing appears on the screen. Is it on sale? If not, why is it in the catalogue?

Thank you for your enquiry
The style number for the fresh blue paisley is 475636 which you could put in the search box or you could write 'fresh blue paisley' in the search box and it will find it for you.
what is the height/depth of the "polo" neck?
Hello and thank you for your enquiry. I can confirm that the height of the neck on these tops would be 2 1/4" on all sizes in Regular and Tall, 2 1/8" in Petite and 2" in Plus.
Good every-day turtle neck
Good (what we in UK, would call ) basic turtle neck. Great for layering. Good weight fabric. Body generous & a good length.
A useful wardrobe basic
I tend to live in roll necks/polo necks in the autumn/winter- just a useful base layer for a lot of different jumpers etc.
Ok but awful choice of colours
This review is about the Women's Regular Long Sleeve Polo Neck, although my comments apply to Polos and Tshirts. I buy this style regularly in white as it is cotton, comfortable to wear and, if washed carefully, wears well before the white starts to turn greyish. Only given 3 stars because of the colour choices. Year after year most other colours are strong, dark or drab. Same for the options with stripes and florals - bold and heavy in unattractive colours to begin with. Nothing offered that is subtle, pastel or tonal. Although occasionally there is the odd choice, but for sure it will be in a modal range. Too clingy for me to wear but as the styles are the same, why not the choices? Obviously the colours I dislike must be popular as they are always in the catalogue under one name or another. But for me, I remain disappointed and will just stick to white.
I am writing thjs review, because,
although I am happy with this polo (and a couple of the other polos I bought),
...I am very dissstisfied with the rest,
because they are TOO THIN, and stick to your body like butter
--it seems you have forgotten mist bodies are not Miss Universe's,
and that clothes that fall nicely instead, are more flattering, elegant, and comfortable.
Please keep in mind this for the coming seasons.
A happy and blessed Christmas to you all.
And thank you for ltsrening!
A great find
Second half of my comments.
The label also states the garment can be tumbled dry on a low setting. Mine have been tumbled with my normal setting which is unlikely to be low with the following results. The 'polo neck' lost 1/4" in height on each garment. Sleeve length shrank 1 1/2" on the Charcoal Heather and Black, 1 1/4" on Sarsaparilla and 1/2" on Pecan Heather. Around the body chest measurement, the loss was 2" with the Charcoal Heather, 3" with the Black, 2 1/2" with the Sarsaparilla, and 4" with Pecan Heather. Top of shoulder to base of garment shrank 2"on the Charcoal Heather, 1 1/4" on the Sarsaparilla, 1 1/2" on the Black and Pecan Heather. I am 5'3" tall with a chest measurement of 37". For years I have purchased larger size clothing with shrinkage in mind due to always drying in tumble dryer. The shrinkage on these garments is perfect for me. (Originally purchased a small and a medium. Deliberately shrank the Medium to find the new measurements were the same as the small size.)
A final note for Landsend. I choose to wear mine under jumpers or shirts so am requesting for you to monitor the marketplace and keep pace with current colour trends. Then I will be back for more.
A great find.
Firstly I would like to express my appreciation to Landsend for bringing this much sought after top to the marketplace. I first purchased this style over 25 years ago and for the last 20 years have periodically hunted for replacements to my well worn two. Finally I can throw these, although if it wasn't for cat plucks they would still be going strong The four now in my possession are Black, Charcoal Heather (a grey), Sarsaparilla (darkest brown), and Pecan Heather (not as neutral as illustration would suggest, sure I can detect orange in the mix. Goes well with dark brown and rusty colours), all in size medium and manufactured in Jordan.
I have these observations to offer others looking to purchase the same. Firstly the style of the neck. I have noticed a number of comments about being too short to fold this down. Description as polo neck is a little deceiving. (25 years ago I believe it was described as turtle neck.) The neckline is already folded and stitched down and not designed to be turned down again. Also it is meant to fit snug to the neck. My Pecan Heather has been cut to be the most generous of the four.
The garment label states the body is 100% cotton. To my eye, the Charcoal Heather and Pecan Heather looks to be just this, (as are my original two) and personally my preferred texture. The Black and Sarsaparilla have more of a slight sheen that usually accompanies a material with added stretch.
No more room. Rest of comments in a second comment page.
Spoilt by 'grippy' neck & cuffs
In my view elasticated necks that grip you round the throat are unpleasant to wear and unflattering - not a good idea. Similarly, why do we need to be gripped round the cuff? Was also disappointed in the thin fabric - not nearly as good as former roll necks from Lands End. I do hope they will look into this and return with some of their former, really excellent 100% proper cotton roll necks.
Always good value
Had several polo necks from Lands End in the past and find them very easy and comfortable to wear. This one looks equally good. Perfect for layering on cold days
