2020 spring color palette: straight from the southwest

The colors and patterns of Lands' End Spring 2020 are inspired by the Southwestern desert - where the sky glows and the Earth is sandy and wild. The collection blends desert neutrals balanced with bright cacti flowers, and the majestic deep, Southwestern sunsets that take over the horizon. Geometric patterns hint to the Puebla and Navajo textiles found in abundance. Earth-tone neutrals balanced with brights. Sunsets and stripes. Arid colors and geometric patterns. The look is rustic yet cozy, casual but elegant, warm yet still full of life.

We were inspired by the strikingly inventive artistry of Ms. Georgia O'Keeffe. Fun fact – she was born in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin - just a short drive away from our headquarters! Later in life, she settled in New Mexico, where the land is distinctive; cottonwood trees, cacti, mountain edges and native grasses. She had a deep connection to the desert – creating art unique to the region – and we fell in love with the colors of the landscapes and flowers she painted. As we started exploring the Santa Fe area where Georgia lived and worked, we stumbled upon the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta®, and we just had to be a part of it.

Spring is all about re-introducing some brightness back into your life after a winter of darker, cooler colors. But, we still stick by our neutrals, too. We're all about taking pieces you already have and love and pairing them with something fresh, like wearing your favorite pair of jeans with one of our iconic, Drifter™ sweaters in a new color, like rosy peach or rose bud ombré. If you're more of a leggings gal, introduce some springy prints, like eucalyptus floral or snake print, to add a pop of color to your collection. Ooh, and throw on a swingy southwest shawl wrap – it looks fab over your chambray shirts and tees, or even worn as a coat on those crisp, spring days. Before you know it, you'll be dying to take a trip out west. We can't recommend it enough!
